The Person

About Me:
- Dedicated – I train regularly all year round, regardless of the weather. I train both in a squad and on my own to ensure that I can develop my skills in all events of the Decathlon.
- Passionate – I am passionate about Athletics and have a genuine desire to help others who are interested in the sport. I give my time freely to coach younger athletes through formal coaching sessions, as well as offering support and encouragement at meets when I can.
- Team Player – I enjoy the atmosphere of squad training sessions because of the encouragement, motivation and support that I can give to others in my squad as they strive to achieve their own goals. I enjoy the fun atmosphere that squad sessions bring.
- Positive – I am generally a positive person and I believe that I inspire this in others. While I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs in my sporting career, I believe that I must always look forward to the future rather than focusing on past poor performances or missed opportunities. This keeps me positive and up-beat.
- Humble – I am grateful for all of the opportunities I have been given and for the talents that I possess. But I do not let these define who I am. I believe that humility is important and allows us all to be equals and to focus on the present.
- Hard-working – I believe that success only comes from hard-work. I have always been willing to put in the hard ground work to ensure that I can give myself the best chance of achieving my goals. I have always been open to learning new things and trying new ideas.
- Independent – I regularly develop my own training sessions and then train on my own in order to reach my goals. Given my regional location, I do not have access to coaches for all events and I have developed my own methods and techniques based on my research of Youtube footage and training websites.
