2015 Australian Recruit: Harry Wells

The Student

  • Achieved above average results in his final year in High School
  • Graduated December 2014
  • SAT results – READING 460, MATHS 540, WRITING 470
  • Very highly regarded student at his prestigious private school

The Person

  • Gentleman off court, fair and honest on court
  • Reference attached from his high school
  • Strong work ethic, team focussed, well-mannered

The Player

  • 2014 ALL State Performer – top 6 players in our state of Queensland.
  • Big all round game – big serve and forehand
  • Strong work ethic, team focussed, well-mannered
  • Hungry for College tennis- his academics and our system here prevents tennis and studies to be well balanced.
  • Very good net game – has some big doubles wins
  • Well coached by James Rapkins, former coach of Australian Champions
  • Technically very sound – he just needs match toughness that college provides
  • Please find attached resume with head-to-head results. His win against Blake Ellis is significant, as Ellis has been identified by Tennis Australia as one of the country’s biggest talents. His close losses have also been included, all against players who have quit school and play tennis full time. The fact that Harry has excelled in the classroom and still had some significant wins against these players shows he is primed for the college environment.
  • Ranking is in 500’s – although this is redundant information – his schooling has prevented him from playing ranking events. More useful is the head to head attached as well as his video footage
